Cargiver support top priority for Ontarians

We asked what you think is the most important action for the government to take and over 350 people filled out the survey.  This informal survey reveals that investing in greater in-home care and respite support is the number one priority for people with dementia and their caregivers. 

  • The most important ask people voted is “Support Family Caregivers—offer more in-home help and respite options” with 53.4% of respondents voting this as top priority
  • The second most important action for the government to take should be “Train health professionals about ways to help people with dementia” with 21.6% of respondents voting this as a priority
  • The third action for the government to take is “Education Ontarians about Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia” with 21.5% of respondents voting this as a priority
  • The fourth action for the government to take is “Education professional caregivers about difficult behaviors of people with dementia”
  • Finally the fifth action for the government to take is “Provide housing options and use technology to help people with dementia”
